Helping struggling churches in remote areas
Urging missionaries and churches to stand
fast in the Last Days
The answer to the question is because it is
God's commandment to the New Testament church to support personnel that
are taking the good news of God's saving grace to the world! This
message is directed toward God
ordained Churches and born again Christians. Matthew 28:19-20- "Go ye
into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature". But there are two categories of people in
the world and we want to address those in this message.
There are some who are not instructed to participate.
(2)- There are some who are instructed to go or send
elaborate on the one's who are to go; I want to clarify who is not
instructed to participate.
1- Those who are
not instructed to participate.
(1)- IT IS
They can not hear the
voice of God.
the natural man
receiveth not the
things of the
God; for they are
to him; neither can he
know them, because they are
spiritually discerned". That
could be why some churches are not
supporting missionaries; Their people need to be saved themselves! Lost
never get the burden
to see others
saved by God's Grace. Many
churches that claim to be doctrinally sound and separated from worldliness are in
fact harboring lost
church members who never see the
need to evangelize and never will until they are themselves born again.
(2)- IT IS
FOR STATE OR
Baptist Churches have
taken money from the government to finance God's work; unlike many so
called denominational religious institutions.
I believe it is God's
intentions for the Church to stay out of
Government and for the Government to stay out of Church affairs,
however our nation was founded on Judaea Christian principals with a
constitution to back it up and when the Bible is taken out of our
everyday lives, the population becomes corrupt as we see it today. The
Ten Commandments have been taken out of school rooms and law making
agencies in order not to offend some group of ungodly people, resulting
in the wicked ruling our society.
(A)- The wicked ruling our
society keeps God's children from having resources to spread the
gospel. Jobs are lost due to Government mismanagement and political
chaos in programs they sponsor. Politicians squander the money God has
country with so that we are over worked and over taxed which reduces
the money each of us have for the Lord's work.
Proverbs 29:2- "When the
in authority, the people rejoice;
when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn".
I believe in ecclesiastical
separation as instructed in God's Word. We are not just one big
cause for Christ here on planet earth!
Cor. 6:17- "come
out from among them and be ye
separate from them and
receive you sayeth the Lord".
(see also 2-Cor.6:13-16 ). God is
absolutely opposed to the system of evangelism used by Billy Graham and
others where so called spiritual leaders come together for a common
cause and rally to fill massive stadiums with people for a city wide
campaign to reach the masses and after the services people are
admonished to attend the church of their choice. The word of God
teaches us in 1-Corinthians 14:8- "For
if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare
himself to the battle?" God
preachers to be specific when it comes to instructing his people and
when that happens those ecumenical leaders will turn against God's man.
God's word warns us in Luke 6:16- " Woe unto you when
all men shall speak
well of you ! for so did their fathers to the false prophets ".
reason being if there is no friction you are most likely just like the
rest of them.
There are three methods of evangelizing the
that God can not use.
1- THE LOST -
2- THE GOVERNMENT -
3- THE ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT
instructs born again believers to go.
God's primary instruction
to local Churches are for them to support missionaries with finances
and prayer: If you can't go- Send someone else!
Matthew 28:19-20- "Go ye into all
the world and preach the gospel to every creature".
I preached a
message in a large church in
Greenville, South Carolina several years ago with the title: "SOME NEED
TO GO AND SOME NEED TO HELP GO" and I believe that is still the plan of
for the dispensation of grace for evangelizing the world.
I don't believe God
intends for every Christian to go to the mission
field but I do believe God intends for every Christian and church to
help go. Everyone who is saved is to have a part in reaching the lost
for Christ. And every Christian is expected to be a witness for the
Lord in his own environment by compelling sinners to come to Jesus as
as financing Missions beyond their own neighborhood.
I also believe that God
will hold every church group accountable for
they handled, "THE GREAT COMMISSION" of Jesus Christ in Mark 16:15 and
I believe all of those
groups who promised missionaries financial
support and never followed up with the commitment are under the
judgment of almighty God. They need to seek His forgiveness while
making restitution to the missionaries.
5:4-6- "When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it;
hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it
that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before
the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy
voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?"
In the New
Testament there is a corresponding story with this scripture In the
book of Acts, with a husband
and wife whose
names were Ananias and
They promised some money for the cause of Christ and lied about it
to the Apostles after which time the apostle Peter told them they had
"LIED TO THE
GHOST" and reminded them that it was their prerogative to do with it
pleased until they promised it but after it
was promised it was no longer theirs to do what they wanted. It
is the same principal when Missionaries are promised
and those who promised it, never give it. It is absurd for missionaries
to have to spend several years traveling all over the country trying to
persuade church people to do what God already commissioned them to do
and many times getting a false promise which delays the missionaries
time for departure to his field of service.
I am persuaded that is why
so many churches fail and pastors leave in
disappointment. We witnessed many such examples of failed
ministries during our years of deputation. When a
pastor instructs a missionary, "Brother, we
will be taking you on for financial support and we will be praying for
you". That church and pastor
owes it to the missionary! It is no longer
theirs to do what they want and God will bring judgment if it isn't
given as agreed upon.
As Missionaries to Alaska
for many years as I already mentioned; we
have witnessed God's hand
of judgment on several congregations and their pastors with many
closed down church buildings and congregations scattered out to other
churches. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God
because lying to missionaries is serious. If the church can't support
missionary, there is no reason to invite him to come under false
pretense to present his
work. God loves honesty.
On the other hand, I can
testify of many other congregations that God
has richly blessed who are mission minded and those have grown
over the years with the same Pastor remaining there for decades. Think
about it people; before you promise a missionary support because
missions is the Heart
Throb of God.
Romans 10:14- "How
can they hear without a preacher and how can they preach except they be
THE ANSWER TO; WHY SUPPORT
MISSIONARIES IS SIMPLE:
(1)- It is God's command
to the Church.
(2)- It is the Holy Spirit's instruction for believers.
(3)- Matt. 28:19-20. YOU NEED TO EITHER TAKE THE GOSPEL TO
THE WORLD OR SEND SOMEONE WITH IT!
