chapter 11

for the message today. Chapter 11 is often called The Hebrew Hall of
Faith
because it list all those Hebrew believers who practiced faith in
God as their only hope of
eternal life and for their purpose in this earthly life.
1- LOOKING AT JESUS
THROUGH FAITHFUL
WITNESSES.
Hebrews Ch. 11: 4-39.
From these several verses we see many lessons the
Lord want's us to learn concerning Salvation and service to him.

faith Noah being warned of God prepared an
ark to the saving of his house".
(4)- 11:8-"By
faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a
place which he should after receive for an inheritance,
obeyed".
(5)- 11:11-"Through faith also
Sara herself received strength to
conceive seed, and was delivered
of a child when she was past age,
because she judged him faithful who had promised".
(6)- Hebrews 11:17-"By
faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac".
(7)- Hebrews 11:20-"By
faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things
to come".
(8)- Hebrews 11:21-"By faith
Jacob, when he was dying, blessed both the sons
of Joseph;"
(9)- Hebrews 11:22-"By
faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the
departing of the children of
Israel; and gave them
commandment
concerning his bones".
(10)- ch.11:23-"By
faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months
of his parents".
(11)- ch.11:24-"By
faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to
be called the son of Pharaoh's
daughter;"
(12)-Hebrews 11:27-28-"By faith Moses forsook
Egypt.........Through faith
he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood...........By faith
they passed through the Red Sea as by
dry land".

and Israel; By faith the walls
of Jerico fell
down, after they were compassed
about seven days".
(14)-
ch.11:31-"By
faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that
believed not,"
(15)- ch.11:32-"Gedeon, and Barak, and Samson, and
Jephthae, and David,
and Samuel, and the
Prophets who through faith subdued kingdoms,
wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of
weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the
armies of the aliens".
(16)- Hebrews 11:35-39-"Women
received
their dead raised to
life again: and
others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain
a better resurrection and these
all, having
obtained a good report through faith,"
2-LOOKING
AT JESUS THROUGH TESTIMONIES.
Hebrews ch. 11.
(1)- Faith for
Salvation .
Hebrews 11:7- Noah prepared for his and his family's salvation.
What about you; are
you preparing your family to know the Lord? Do you pray for them
and with them? Do you keep them under the sound of the gospel? Are they
born again?
(2)-
Faith for
Sanctification.
Hebrews 11:27-28 Moses forsook egypt.
(A type of the worldliness). Are you living a separated christ honoring
life? Do you look
different from the rest of the world or are you so much like the world
that they can't tell
the difference between you and themselves?
(3)- Faith for
Seperation .
Hebrews 11:24- Moses refused to be called the son of Pharoh's
daughter.
Would you give up the riches of a kings castle to serve the Lord? Do
you worship
materal goods? Is your position as the CEO of some large company more
important
than living for the Lord?
(4)- Faith for Service .
Hebrews 11:8- Abraham when he was
called.......obeyed.
What about you; will you surrender your life to serve on a mission
field, far away from
the luxury you now enjoy?
(5) Faith for Expectation.
Hebrews 11:5- Enoch was translated.
(typical of
the rapture of the saints).
Are you ready for the rapture? Will the Lord be pleased with your life
when you stand
before him or will you be ashamed and suffer lost rewards?
3-
LOOKING AT JESUS OUR SACRIFICE.
(1)- Jesus is the only means of redemption for mankind.
Hebrews 12:2- "The author and
finisher of ouf faith".
(2)- Jesus
didn't leave anyone out of his plan of redemption.
1 Tim. 2:4- "He would have all
men to be saved and
to come to the knowledge of the truth".
(3)- Jesus blood
paid for the forgiveness of past, present and future sins.
Colossians 1:14-
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of
sins".
(4)- Jesus blood satisfied the Heavenly Father.
Innocent blood had to be
shed and sprinkled on the
mercy seat in Heaven before it was settled.
John
4:34 Jesus saith unto them, "My meat is to do the will of him
that
sent me, and to finish his work".
(3)- Jesus
shed blood fulfilled prophesy.
The Cross became finished redemption for all mankind- Isaiah
53:5-7- Jesus came as a
lamb to the slaughter.
Isa.
53:5-"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for
our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with
his stripes we are healed."
Isa.
53:6-"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every
one
to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
Isa.
53:7-"He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not
his
mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before
her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth."
(4)- Jesus
blood removed the barrier; It is no longer for the Jews
only!
John
6:38-"For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but
the
will of him that sent me."
John
6:40-"And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one
which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:
and I will raise him up at the last day."
(5)- Jesus blood
defeated the devil.
The devil was the one who instituted the downfall
of
mankind in the first place. Thank God Almighty, the devil was defeated
at Calvary! John
16:11- "The prince of this world is judged".
4- LOOKING AT JESUS
OUR HIGH
PRIEST.
(1)- Jesus finished his work of redemption on earth.
Hebrews 12:2- "And is sat down at
the right hand of the
throne of God".
(2)- Jesus is become our High
Priest.
Hebrews 4:15- " For we have not
an high priest which
cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all
points tempted as we are, yet without sin".
When the accuser comes
to tell Jesus how bad we are, Jesus reminds him that we are God's
children and even our short comings are under the blood! My what a High
priest we have and he is always there for us when we fall to lift us up
and to forgive our sins!
Conclusion:
(1)- BE SURE OF YOUR
SALVATION.
If you are not
absolutely sure your sins are under the blood of Christ
and that you would go to heaven if you died this moment; you need to
repent of your
sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart to live forever and make you
a child of his and to
write your name in the Lamb's Book of life! If you will ask the Lord to
save you, He promised to do so in Romans 10:13- "For whosoever shall call upon the name
of the Lord shall be saved".
(2)- BE SURE OF YOUR SANCTIFICATION.
If you know that you are saved but you are not living a Sanctified,
Separated life; then you need to lay every sin that is hindering you on
the altar of God's love and determine to walk from this day forward in
newness of life! You made him your Saviour-now you need to make him
Lord of your life. Romans 12:1-2-
"Present your bodies a living sacrifice..."
(3)- BE SURE OF YOUR SERVICE.
Are you in his perfect will? Are you serving him in what ever purpose
he called you for?
