suppose that in the wisdom and knowledge of God there is no end to the
things He knows but I want to
speak to you in this message about four
things God knows how to do in
relation to his mercy and his grace and how he reserves
judgment for those who are
GOD KNOWS HOW TO SAVE SINNERS.
7:25- "Wherefore He is able also to save them to
the uttermost that
come unto God by Him, speaking
of Jesus seeing
he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
AGAIN BELIEVERS CONFIRM IT.
Psalms 107:2- "Let the redeemed
of the Lord say so",
I not be a fool to preach to you about a God that I wasn't sure beyond
any doubt was able to offer you eternal life?
Hebrews 2:9- "But we see Jesus,
who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death,
crowned with glory and honor, that he by the grace of God should taste
death for every man".
I not be a fool to preach about a God who had not already paid the
price and tasted death for every man, woman, boy and girl?
EXPERIENCE VERIFIES IT.
I not be a fool to preach to you without knowing Christ in the free
of sin myself?
gave a scripture quote from 2-Timothy 1:12- while
pastoring a small mission Church in Alaska:
"I know in whom I have believed and I am persuaded that he is able to
keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day" and
afterwards one of
my church members came up to me and said, Preacher what did you have
that you could commit to God ? My reply was, I have committed the
safe-keeping of my soul unto Him.
THE EASY BELIEVISM MOVEMENT HINDERS
There is a large following of preachers
today who preach that Repentance isn't necessary for a person to be
saved. These Preachers are turning the word of God into a lie and if a
sinner never repents of sin they never get truly born again! I
firmly believe that the easy-believism methods of corralling
converts to the altar and telling them to repeat
after me the sinners prayer and all that want to go to heaven, please
lift your hands; is sending many unsaved people back to their seats
with out being born again! Some pastors go so
far as to
publish bragging rights in "The
The Lord" telling us how many professions he had on what he calls,
"High Sunday". Give me a break! Please see my sermons on "Numbering the
people" and "Easy Believism" as well as "is repentance necessary".
While those pastors are
gloating over a decision some sinners were
supposed to have made; many are still on a collision course with a
devil's hell because real born again
converts are like a Logger who
came to the altar at the invitation during our ministry in Alaska at
which time I ask him what he was there
for and his reply was: "I need to be saved". We both knelt and
prayer as he invited Christ into his heart. When The Holy Spirit
sinners condition and the need of repentance; that person will have no
problem asking God to be merciful to me a sinner and to save me for
sake. The Holy Spirit can then teach them from God's word as they walk
in fellowship with other believers.
When a sinner ask for
God's mercy and grace; Salvation is on the way!
John 6:37- "He
that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out".
KNOWS HOW TO KEEP US SECURE.
a person is truly born again; he or she will be able to rest on God's
promise to keep them until the day Christ comes in the Clouds to
receive us unto Himself.
We are Sealed.
Ephesians 4"30- "And grieve not
the Holy Spirit of God, whereby we are sealed unto the day of
(B)- We are Kept by God himself.
1:12- "For the which cause I also suffer these things:
nevertheless I am
not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he
is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."
(1)- GOD THE FATHER
DELIVERS HIS CHILDREN FROM TRIALS AND TEMPTATION.
GOD KNOWS HOW TO DELIVER FROM EVIL.
three members of the Godhead are working on our behalf during
2:9- "The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of
the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:"
10:13-"There hath no temptation
taken you but such as is common to man:
but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that
ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape,
that ye may be able to bear it."
is no earthly ordeal too hard for God to help his children through.
TEMPTATION in this
verse is the Greek word Pi-ras-mos' which means,"a
We all undergo many trials
as we travel through this
journey and scripture tells us in Psalms 34:19-"Many are the
afflictions of the righteous but God delivers us from them all".
(2)- Jesus Our Saviour is making
intercessory prayer for us during trials.
Jesus gave us an example
of his priestly work at the right hand of the Heavenly Father while
praying in John 17:15 "I
pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the
that thou shouldest keep them from the evil."
(3)- The Holy Spirit is a constant help
John 14:18 "I will not
leave you comfortless".
The Spirit of God is the
Comforter whom Jesus sent to abide with us
forever! He delivers our prayers to the throne room of God where He
intercedes on our behalf. Our prayers should
include; that God would protect
us and keep us from evil because: 1-Peter 5:8 "our adversary the
devil runs to and
fro seeking who he might devour".
4- GOD KNOWS
HOW TO JUDGE SINNERS.
1:5-"I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once
how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt,
afterward destroyed them that believed not."
1:6-"And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left
own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness
unto the judgment of the great day."
who sinned have no opportunity because they aren't free moral agents.
(2)- Fallen mankind has a
chance to be redeemed but only if it is done
in this life.
sinners and angels who rebelled against God are reserved unto
everlasting judgment but the angels who followed satan into rebellion
against God have no chance of redemption because they were created
beings to serve Almighty God. God sent His son to pay the
sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.
is a free moral agent which means we are given the choice to do right
and we are extended an invitation from the Lord, Rev. 22:17- "Who so ever will
let him come and take of the
water of life freely".
After we are saved we have a High
the right hand of the Majesty on high who ever liveth to make
intercession for us. we can bring our
petitions to him through the indwelling Holy Spirit and Jesus
will plead our cause to the heavenly Father! My what
a Great God and Saviour we have! I am reminded of the scripture that
tells us in Acts 17:28-"In
Him we live and move and have our
