Psalms 119:176

Psalms 119:176- "I have gone astray like a lost sheep". God made a comparison in this verse to remind mankind that a lost condition exist in the life of every person who hasn't properly addressed the issue.

Have you ever been lost?
Before I was saved, I was persuaded by the Holy Spirit that I was lost. You will never become a true child of God until you get a knowledge of your lost condition. If you don't think that you have ever been lost, you have never been saved!

I was pastoring a small mission church in Alaska and at the closing invitation a logger came down the isle to the front of the church where I met him with the question; what are you here for and his reply was that I need to be saved. You see; the preaching of the God's word along with the convicting power of the Holy Spirit revealed to him that he was lost.

Before that time the logger wasn't making any effort to know Christ in the free pardon of sin because the bible teaches us that the gospel is hid unto those who are lost until the Holy Spirit reveals it unto them.
2 Corinthians 4:3- "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost".

The easy-believism philosophy that many preachers have fallen into brings with it the idea that repentance along with Holy Spirit conviction aren't necessary for a person to go to heaven. The devil himself believes the bible and very often quotes it to satisfy his purpose of deception but the one thing missing is conviction of a lost condition and repentance which leaves the devil the same old adversary.

Easy-believism preachers have played a role in keeping sheep lost.
Jeremiah 50:6- "My people hath been lost sheep: Their shepherds have caused them to go astray".
Preachers, you need to get out of that easy-believism movement and preach God's word as Jesus gave us example when he said, "except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish" in Luke chapter three. Jesus told Nicodemas in john chapter three that he must be born again. If you present a persuasive argument to a person and he or she repeats after you some prayer after telling you that they believe Jesus was the Son of God and without Holy Spirit conviction or repentance; you have done as Jesus told the religious leaders in Matthew 23:15-
"Woe unto you, scribes and  Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves".

(1)- God's offer is to everyone individually.
2 Peter 3:9- "The Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance". The sacrifice Jesus made on the cross included every person who has ever lived and every one who will live in the future.

(2)- God's offer is for lost people collectively.
Romans 5:8-9- "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him". God didn't have a friendly audience to send his son to die for! The greatest act ever is to try and love the unlovely who hate your love but God gave us redemption while we didn't deserve it and that is the meaning of the word, Grace

(3)- The offer is from Christ, The Holy Spirit and the Church.
Rev.22:17- "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely". If you go to hell it will not be because you were never invited! You have a standing invitation that doesn't expire as long as you live or until Jesus comes for the redeemed in the rapture.

You need to do three things in order to be saved, sealed and secured in Christ:
1- Realize that you are a sinner. This is found in the book of Romans chapter 3 and verse 23.
"We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God".

2- Repent of your sin.
Repentance means that you have Godly sorry for your sinful condition. This is found in the book of Acts chapter 3 and verse 19.
"Repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins might be blotted out".

3- Believe that Jesus paid your sin debt on the cross, that he arose from the dead and ask Jesus to come into your heart to save you. This is found in the new testament book of Romans chapter 10 and verses 9-10 along with verse 13.
"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved".
Please do it now and tell someone what has happened to you, that you accepted Christ into your heart to live forever and when you do this the bible tells us our names are written down in the book of life in heaven, we are sealed unto the day of redemption by the Holy Spirit of God and our sins will be remembered against us no more!

If preachers don't get right with the Lord and get back to preaching Holy Ghost conviction and repentance as a pre-requisite to being born again we are heading for the same destination as Great Britain when they became so liberal over a hundred years ago. Many fine old soul winning churches in England today are boarded up and automobile repair shops operate from them or some other secular business.
